Everton Says Goodbye to Goodison with a Win

In today’s match, Everton triumphed over Southampton with a 2-0 victory at home, marking the farewell to their historic venue, “Goodison Park,” in the penultimate game of the Premier League’s 37th round.

Iliman Endiaj netted both goals for Everton, scoring in the sixth minute and then again in the second minute of first-half stoppage time.

Having called Goodison Park home since 1892, Everton will transition to the 52,888-seat “Hill Dickinson” stadium starting next season.

Everton boasts the most Premier League victories at Goodison Park against Southampton—with a total of 17 wins—followed by West Ham, whom they have defeated 16 times. Notably, Liverpool has suffered 19 defeats at Goodison Park against Manchester United.

As the Premier League heads into its final round, Everton sits in 13th place with 45 points, while Southampton finds itself at the bottom in 20th, with just 12 points, having already faced relegation to the Championship.

In their final match, Everton will travel to Newcastle, while Southampton will host Arsenal.
