The fresh European chapter for the Montenegrin champions kicks off in the birthplace of water polo, in a city that loves the sport…
Today, Jadran embarks on their journey in the prestigious Champions League.
At 18:30, the team from Herceg Novi will face one of the top clubs in Europe, Ferencvaros, in Budapest.
The strength of the Hungarian team is showcased by notable players such as Dušan Mandić, Denes Vargao, Šoma Vogel, Szilard Janšik, Edoardo di Soma, Luka Damonte, Stilianos Argiropoulos, and Danilo Merkulov…
“We are preparing for a match against an experienced team that comprises many national team players and operates seamlessly,” commented Jadran’s captain, Martin Gardašević, from the banks of the Danube.
Nonetheless, the Montenegrin representatives are not conceding defeat.
“We may be a young squad, but we are very motivated, bolstered by the addition of two seasoned Russian players (Dmitri Holod and Ivan Nagaev),” Gardašević noted.
While the favorites are clear…
“They are undoubtedly stronger on paper, but I expect a closely contested game—if we adhere to our game plan, we can achieve a positive result,” concluded Gardašević.
The second match of this group will commence half an hour later, featuring Jadran’s counterparts from Split facing off against Crvena zvezda.
