The season that will be remembered for years to come took a thrilling turn on Sunday during the penultimate round. Inter was poised to capitalize on Napoli’s mistake but ultimately fell short of securing a victory that would place them at the summit of the Serie A table before the final match.

Antonio Conte’s side ended the match against Parma in a goalless draw, while the reigning champions, Napoli, led twice against Lazio but settled for a 2-2 draw, leaving them just a point ahead of Napoli going into the final game.

Numerous matches between Lazio and Inter have decided the Scudetto in various ways, and on this occasion, supporters of the Milan club will remember Pedro, the former Barcelona star, who dashed the hopes of the “Nera Rossa” with two pivotal goals.

Napoli will take on Cagliari in their quest for their second title in three years, while Inter will face Como away, hoping for another slip-up from the southern Italian side.

Inter initially took the lead just before halftime with a goal from Jan Bisek. However, Pedro leveled the score in the 72nd minute amidst chaos following a shot from Adam Marušić. Just eight minutes later, Denzel Dumfries put the home side back in front at the “Meaci” once again.

Just when it seemed Inter was on its way to claiming the lead, Bisek inexplicably handled the ball in his penalty area, and Pedro proved unforgiving from the penalty spot in the 90th minute.

At approximately the same time at the “Tardini”, Daniele Doveri awarded a penalty to Napoli in stoppage time, while at the “Meaci,” Marko Arnautović scored, but both decisions were later overturned by VAR.

The evening in Italy was also highlighted by Montenegrin footballer Nikola Krstović, who played a vital role in Lecce’s victory. The “Falcon” striker assisted Ilber Ramadani, who scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 win against Torino.

After 13 rounds without a win, the club from “Via del Marea” is now out of the relegation zone, albeit level on points with Empoli, who are below the line.

Krstović sustained an injury and exited the game in the 59th minute, which may raise concerns for Montenegro ahead of their World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic in June.

An additional Montenegrin on the field was Vasilije Adžić, who came on in the 92nd minute of Juventus’ 2-0 victory over Udinese, as they held onto fourth place—the final spot leading into the Champions League.
