CIRT Representatives Attend the 37th Annual FIRST Conference in Copenhagen
Representatives from CIRT participated in the 37th Annual Conference of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), held in Copenhagen from June 22 to June 27, 2025. This renowned event attracted over 1,000 cybersecurity professionals from more than 100 countries, offering a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and the strengthening of global cooperation.
Our representatives engaged in several crucial meetings that held particular significance for national teams. Notably, we were involved in the 20th Annual Technical Meeting of National CSIRTs, organized by Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI). This meeting highlighted technical challenges and coordination among national teams, along with strategies to enhance their capabilities and cultivate mutual trust.
Furthermore, CIRT participated in the EU Cyber Balkans meeting titled “Building Bridges between FIRST and the Cybersecurity Communities of the Western Balkans,” organized by the e-Governance Academy from Estonia. This meeting underscored the importance of regional cooperation, support for newly established CIRT teams, and capacity building in the Western Balkans.
During the Communications Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting, attendees discussed strategies for improving public communication and partnerships during crises. In addition to these meetings, our representatives attended various lectures and panel discussions, gaining valuable insights into current trends, tools, and real-world cybersecurity incidents across the globe.
Our participation in this conference is paramount, as it enhances professional development, fosters regional and international collaboration, and reinforces Montenegro’s role as an engaged participant in the global cybersecurity community.
