When McKinley Wright, at plus 19, delivers the ball with such decisiveness in situations where losing isn’t an option for him and his teammates, paired with an entertaining style of basketball, it becomes evident that this is the Future everyone has been anticipating…
This has been the case ever since the championship in 2018.
Another wonderful evening in Podgorica, another victory, and a highly significant one – the basketball team The Future Voli, showcased impressive play and spectacular performances, defeating Juventud 107:75 during the 17th round of the Eurocup.
This impressive and convincing victory is not overshadowed by the fact that the Catalan side arrived in our capital without several key players.
This means that Andrej Žakelj’s team heads into the final round with a record of 9-8, tied with three other playoff contenders – Wolves, Ulm, and Besiktas – following tonight’s defeat to Gran Canaria. The “Blue and Whites” will be aiming for a victory in Vilnius in seven days that could secure them at least 5th place in Group A.
They might even claim fourth place if Besiktas were to lose to Trento at home, although that scenario seems less likely.

When threes hit five consecutive attacks
The “blue and white” team faced some struggles towards the end of the first quarter and the start of the second, allowing Juventud to take a brief lead (23:21), but Buducnost quickly rectified that downturn with a series of successful three-point shots.
Andrej Žakelj’s squad concluded five consecutive possessions with three-pointers, with Fletcher Maggie, Kenan Kamenjaš, Jogi Ferel, Nikola Tanasković, and Đorđije Jovanović all hitting their shots.
The Podgorica team slowly extended their lead, and after Wright outplayed the Juventud defense at the end of the first half, they achieved their first double-digit lead (44:33).
Exciting highlights until the very end, Ferrell rained threes
While the third quarter had been a challenge in some earlier matches this season, this time Buducnost settled the outcome during this period.
Juventud managed to score only three points in the first nearly seven minutes of the quarter; Wright’s excellent defense contributed, and Buducnost surged ahead to a 60:41 lead after a three-pointer by Jovanović.
It was pure “showtime” for the blue team, spearheaded by Jovanović and Ferrell, with the point guard sinking three-pointers like it was effortless (he finished with six), and following one particular shot, the home team established a substantial 96:64 advantage.
Everything was decided long before the game concluded, yet this Buducnost team remained relentless, sealing the match at 107:75 by the final whistle.
