The Bjelopolje Hospital has acquired central monitoring systems for vital function assessment in the Operating Block, alongside ultrasound machines for the Pediatrics Department.

This donation, valued at €64,750, was presented by Malgorzata Lakota-Micker, Chargé d’Affaires at the Polish Embassy, under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The projects received approval from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of Poland’s Development Cooperation Plan for 2025.

“Health security ranks high among the priorities of the Polish presidency, serving as a clear manifestation of our solidarity and friendship. We are confident this advanced equipment will enhance patient care conditions while fostering connections between our nations through collaborative health initiatives. We deeply appreciate the kindness and friendship afforded to us by the Montenegrins, which Polish patients have often felt during their stays at the Clinical Center of Montenegro or the Bijelo Polje hospital,” stated Lakota Micker during her visit. She emphasized that the donation reflects gratitude towards the dedicated doctors who have consistently shown compassion to Polish patients.

Hospital Director Kenan Erović stated that the donation aims to enhance postoperative patient monitoring and improve health diagnostics in the pediatric department.

“Central monitoring in healthcare allows for the observation of patients’ vital functions from a single location, typically within a central monitoring unit. This system streamlines medical staff operations by enabling simultaneous information collection and analysis from several patient monitors and allows for rapid response during emergencies. Notably, the Bijelo Polje General Hospital will now be the sole secondary-level health institution in Montenegro equipped with this patient monitoring system. Additionally, the pediatric-cardiological ultrasound device will refine diagnostic processes when examining children and expedite the treatment journey. Acquiring these devices aligns with our management’s primary objective to enhance patient care every year, ensuring high-quality diagnostics and quicker examination and treatment processes,” explained Erović.
