Editor of “Dana,” Duško Jovanović, was a prominent advocate for justice, freedom of expression, and independent thought. He lost his life in the struggle against those who kept Montenegro in a prolonged state of criminal oppression, stated Parliament Speaker Andrije Mandić.
Mandić emphasized the importance of illuminating the circumstances surrounding Jovanović’s murder and noted that the Inquiry Committee, established a few months earlier, is actively investigating this tragic incident.
“I proudly announce that the Parliament of Montenegro will always honor Duško Jovanović’s legacy and his relentless fight. In the near future, as part of the modernization of our parliament’s plenary hall, the press gallery will be named in his honor. This will serve as a permanent tribute to his bravery and steadfast commitment to a free and democratic Montenegro. I specifically hope that this acts as an inspiration for young politicians to understand the significance of the quest for truth, justice, and freedom,” Mandić shared on Iks.
