Primorac Anticipates Fan Support in Clash Against Trieste

Primorac demonstrated its capabilities on the European front two weeks ago by winning the qualifying tournament with a clean sweep of four victories, securing a spot in the Eurocup group stage.

During that tournament held in Kotor, teams like Panathinaikos, Terasa, Hanover, and Peristeri were defeated, instilling confidence in Zoran Maslovar’s team that they can advance to the knockout stage of this prestigious competition.

The first challenge on their journey will be against Italy’s Trieste this Saturday at 18:00 in the “Zoran Džimi Gopčević” pool.

“We are well-acquainted with our opponent, and we recognize that Trieste is a formidable team. It will be challenging, but that’s what we expect from all teams in our group. I believe we will witness some excellent water polo,” Maslovar shared with Radio Kotor.

Primorac aims for victory against a team that features Italian national player Luka Marcijali and Croatian Ivan Buljubasic.

“Our form is improving, and the players are determined to give their best. I’m hopeful that with our fans’ support and a positive atmosphere, we’ll secure this match. We are optimistic; a win would mean a great deal to us,” stated Maslovar.

Last weekend, Primorac smoothly clinched the first tournament of the regional A1 league with three wins.

“We utilized that tournament for extra practice, despite some absenteeism due to illness among a few players. Through three games, we came together and performed as anticipated,” Maslovar explained.

Joining Primorac and Trieste in group D are Ortiđa and Panionios. The top two teams will earn a spot among the best 16.
