SC Derby faced a loss tonight in Belgrade, falling to FMP with a score of 78:55 in the 21st round of the AdmiralBet ABA League, marking their 14th defeat of the season in this regional competition.

SC Derby remained competitive until the end of the third quarter, after which FMP executed a decisive 21:0 run, establishing a 74:50 lead that sealed the game.

“As mentioned earlier, we’ve been short on players lately, often training with only four or five. This limited us even more, preventing proper practice. It showed tonight, especially during the second half. We held our ground for about 28 minutes, and then FMP took over. They made difficult shots, particularly Skot and Popović,” commented SC Derby’s coach, Petar Mijović, after the match.

SC Derby was missing Bogavac and Drobnjak, and early in the fourth quarter, Nil fouled out after receiving five personal fouls.

“Losing Nil to his fifth personal foul early completely disrupted us. In a match like this, three offensive fouls among five key players raises questions. Nevertheless, I must acknowledge FMP’s victory and extend my best wishes to them for the remainder of the season,” Mijović added.

FMP’s coach, Saša Nikitović, also noted that his squad faced challenges leading up to this game.

“We anticipated a match like this, considering SC Derby was missing several injured and sick players. We were also without Kuzmić and Lazarević, and Barna was ill; Šaranović and Stojanović had not trained, while Radosavljević was on IV. It was an unusual game, we had to field Stevens and Tomašević. In the second half, I felt I could effectively manage the game. We struggled with transition points in the first half, but that changed and proved crucial for our success. A great win; congratulations to the players, and let’s keep moving forward,” Nikitović stated.
