Today, three houses were at risk due to a fire that erupted in the Rubeža neighborhood of Nikšić, as stated by Slavko Tadić, commander of the Nikšić Protection and Rescue Service, to “Vijesti”.

Tadić noted that the fire is a clear example of human error and deliberate actions.

The Nikšić Fire and Rescue Unit received reports of the fire at 1:30 PM.

“Thanks to the swift response from our team, we were able to extinguish the flames, saving the homes. Our fire protection inspector (ZOP) conducted an on-site investigation and, based on evidence from the charred area (approximately 2,000 square meters), filed a report with the police against unknown individuals. Although the summer fire season is upon us and a ban on open burning is in effect, many of our reckless neighbors refuse to comply, choosing instead to clean their mini-dumps, yards, edges, and roads by igniting fires,” Tadić explained.

He also mentioned that yesterday, they were able to extinguish another fire on Trebjesa, which they suspect was intentionally set.
