Milan Tičić, part of the renowned 2008 Montenegrin water polo team that triumphed in Europe under coach Peter Porobić, has proposed that the swimming facilities in Podgorica be named after the legendary coach from Malaga.

“Porobić’s legacy merits the naming of the swimming pools in Podgorica, especially since the concept for their construction arose following our success in Malaga in 2008,” Tičić shared on the X platform.

Sadly, Petar Porobić passed away unexpectedly on Monday at the age of 67.

He was Montenegro’s inaugural coach and the only one to bring home a gold medal, achieved during the aforementioned European Championship in 2008.
