Kotor police have detained three Serbian nationals suspected of forming a criminal organization intent on eliminating a Kotor resident, acting on the orders of a Montenegrin citizen from Nikšić, who was also apprehended, reported Aleksa Bečić, Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Defense, Fight Against Crime, and Internal Policy.
Bečić praised the Police Directorate for their prompt action in averting a potential assassination attempt.
“The investigation revealed that the suspects meticulously planned the attack: they leased an apartment in Budva, surveilled the victim’s movements, and prepared the location for the assault. The group’s organizer, a Montenegrin from Nikšić, has also been arrested and faces charges for orchestrating a criminal association. The Police Directorate remains committed to combating organized crime and reinforces the message that no criminal organization is above the law,” Bečić stated on Iks.
