Kalezić and Pavicevic Join DPS Councilors in Vote; Knezevic Plans to Propose Their Expulsion from the Party
The Democratic People’s Party (DNP) has announced its decision to distance itself from the recent vote in the Danilovgrad Municipal Assembly (MA), where councilors Goran Kalezić and Aleksandra Pavićević, alongside members of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), voted to remove the director of the Day Care Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities and Adults with Disabilities.
“In our ten-year history, no DNP MP or councilor has ever voted in collaboration with DPS to dismiss colleagues from NSD (New Serbian Democracy). Regrettably, today marks the first instance of such an action by Goran Kalezić and Aleksandra Pavićević, which is an unacceptable breach of our party’s program and statutory principles. Given the circumstances, DNP President Milan Knežević will propose the expulsion of Kalezić and Pavićević from the party during the next Presidency meeting,” the statement from the DNP read.
According to “Vijesti,” 22 out of 33 councilors were present at the session, with 20 voting in favor of the dismissal.
Councilors from the DNP, the Europe Now Movement (PES), the Civic Movement URA, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), the Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Movement for Change (PzP), Preokret, Democratic Montenegro, and Prava Montenegro supported the replacement of the director, while two local councilors from NSD opposed it.
