The Red Star basketball team started their match against Bayern with a fantastic opening, establishing a 9:0 lead within the first three minutes. However, from the end of the first quarter, the home team took control of the game.
Bayern triumphed over the “red and white” in the 28th round of the Euroleague, securing a 100:82 victory and improving their record to 17-11.
The Bavarians led by as much as 29 points in the third quarter (77:48), but Red Star managed to reduce the deficit by the game’s conclusion. They can take solace in their previously secured better head-to-head record against the German team, having won 101:77 in Belgrade.
Carsen Edwards was the standout player for Bayern, scoring 30 points, with Vladimir Lučić contributing 18 points and Shabazz Napier adding 16; this trio accounted for 14 of their team’s 19 three-pointers.
For Red Star, Ajzea Kenan was the top scorer with 15 points.
After their victory in Paris, Fenerbahçe secured another away win, dominating Olimpia in Milan with a score of 100:76, highlighted by 18 points from Eric McCallum. Meanwhile, Panathinaikos triumphed over Real Madrid, winning 85:70 in Athens.
The standout performer for the European champions, Real Madrid, was Kendrick Nunn with 18 points, matching the performance of Mario Hezonja.
Baskonia edged out Zalgiris 66:65 in Vitoria, claiming victory thanks to Timoteo Luwava’s clutch performance, scoring with 19 seconds remaining.
