The longing is undeniable, but this pace is unsustainable.

The Montenegrin handball team is gearing up for two critical matches in the European Championship qualifiers, with Vuko Borozan listed as a reserve. What’s the situation?
Vasko Ševaljević, the national team director, addressed the issue:
“It’s important to clarify this situation. Vuko and I are in regular contact, and there’s no doubt about his commitment to the national team,” Ševaljević stated.
“We need to show understanding for his circumstances, particularly because he suffers from severe cartilage damage in his knee. This injury allows him to compete, but it also leads to potential complications after intense exertion. When Vuko is on the field, he gives it his all, but alongside this injury, he is also dealing with shoulder issues and other concerns. It’s essential to recognize that playing for a club and the national team are two different scenarios,” Ševaljević explained.
Montenegro will face Finland on Thursday and Slovakia on Sunday. Securing a point in the first match would almost ensure our team’s qualification for the European Championship.
“Currently, the pace is too rapid for Vuko; he is unable to keep up. We have a full day of travel tomorrow, which adds complications. Following that, we will hold two training sessions, play a match, and return to Montenegro. At this moment, he can’t handle that schedule, but if necessary and his health permits, Vuko will be available for the next match should the coaching staff decide we need him,” concluded Ševaljević.
