Barça on the Verge of Title Victory in Just 25 Minutes of “El Clásico”
Barcelona’s spectacular style on the pitch faltered against Inter in the Champions League semi-finals. However, this season, the Catalan powerhouse is intent on claiming all domestic titles, deftly outplaying their fierce rivals.
Barça stands on the brink of securing the Spanish championship following an electrifying “el clásico” match at Montjuic, where fans witnessed a thrilling six goals by half-time, ending at 4:3.
Hansi Flick’s squad excels when they possess the ball, yet they also struggle when defense is required. In their fourth encounter with Real Madrid, they showcased familiar dominance characteristic of the previous three matches, controlling at least 80 out of 96 minutes…
The “Blaugrana” managed to recover from an early two-goal deficit just 14 minutes into the derby (Killian Mbappé being a double scorer), turning the tide in their favor by the 34th minute.
Eric Garcia narrowed the gap with a header from a corner kick, followed by a brilliant equalizer from Lamin Jamal, who mirrored Lionel Messi’s finesse with a shot into the far corner. Rafinha extended the home team’s lead to 4:2 by halftime with two goals.
The first goal was set up by Pedro, and the second was assisted by Ferran Torres after Rafinha intercepted Lucas Vazquez’s pass.
Real Madrid conceded four goals within 45 minutes and could realistically have allowed at least two or three more; this Barça squad is evidently too powerful for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, which sought to capitalize on Barça’s mistakes through counterattacks.
They succeeded early in the “el clásico,” but as the match progressed, Ancelotti’s players continued to falter in their setups and passes, allowing Barça to gain confidence all over the pitch.
While Barça showcased their strength, they still provided enough openings for their rivals to create chances.
Midway through the second half, Mbappé brought the score to 4:3 and completed his hat-trick, but spectacular chances were squandered at the end by substitute Victor Munoz and Mbappé, who was denied by Wojciech Szczesny.
It appears Real has resigned the crown to Barça, who are now seven points ahead with three matches left, potentially celebrating their 28th title next weekend.
Flick has become the second coach in history (behind Pep Guardiola) to win his first four “el clásico” encounters, while Mbappé is the third player in the 21st century to score a hat-trick in matches between Barça and Real, following Messi (twice) and Luis Suárez. He is also the first Real player to achieve a hat-trick in the derby since Ivan Zamorano in 1995.
