Russian Citizen Detained at Ranche Border Crossing for Suspected Forgery of Driver’s License

A 37-year-old Russian national, identified as ME, was apprehended at the Ranche border crossing on suspicion of presenting a fraudulent driver’s license, as reported by the Police Directorate (PD) today.
According to the statement, ME, who was driving a passenger vehicle with Bar license plates, approached the border control at the Ranche crossing. During the evaluation of the personal documents provided, police officers raised concerns regarding the legitimacy of the driver’s license, noting discrepancies and irregularities in its printing.
The police department indicated that following the collection of information from ME, the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Pljevlja was notified of the event. The prosecutor classified the incident as a crime, leading to ME’s arrest and the filing of criminal charges for the offense of document forgery.
