Vukanić Unveils “Silver Sharks” Roster for Three-Day Training in Kotor
Nenad Vukanić, the selector for the U16 water polo national team, has revealed the roster of players for a three-day training camp in Kotor.
This marks the first assembly for players born in 2008 and later following their silver medal achievement at the European Championship held in Podgorica this summer.
Coach Vukanić has called up 24 players.
The roster features Strahinja Vraneš, Luka Kovačević, Nkola Damjanović, Dimitrije Milić, Ljubo Sijerković, Dario Domazetović, Đorđe Koprivica, Miloš Nikezić, Slobodan Radanović, Luka Todorović (Herceg Novi), Pavle Dabić, and Luka Dragović (Budva Riviera).
Additional players invited include Danilo Savović, Petar Brnović, Jakša Milanović, Andrej Andrić, Vasilije Mirović, Andrija Aleksić, Sava Stamatović, and Andrej Golubović (Budućnost), Marko Milinić, Danilo Roganović, Balša Crepulja (Primorac), and Jovan Popović (Nikšić).
Vukanić explained that the coaching staff intentionally omitted some players from the roster who competed in Podgorica, aiming to broaden the pool and consider more candidates.
He noted that some players may have conflicting commitments with their clubs, such as Budva and Qatar in the Regional League.
“At this gathering, we are missing nine players who are in competition: Matija Franet, Radić, Stefan Kruta, Luka Savić, Andrija Rajović, Tomo Vičević, Stefan Vraneš, Andrej Durutović, and Marko Pejović,” Coach Vukanić stated.
The talented squad is set to compete at the World Championship in Malta from June 16 to 22 next year.
“We have limited opportunities for gatherings, mainly during school holidays and extended weekends,” Vukanić emphasized.
His assistants, Đorđe Radošević and Aleksa Brkić, will assist in coaching.
