Inter Abandons Pursuit of De Bruyne as Chicago Move Grows More Likely

Inter Miami has opted not to exercise their negotiation rights with Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, making Chicago the frontrunners to secure the Belgian player in the MLS, according to a report by the BBC.

Initially, Inter Miami held the exclusive right to negotiate with De Bruyne if he chose to continue his career in the United States. However, the Miami club has decided against pursuing that option.

This choice means that De Bruyne will not join Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Busquets on the same team.

Chicago, currently sitting 11th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings, is now the next club eligible to begin discussions with the Belgian international.

De Bruyne revealed in April that he plans to depart Manchester City at the end of the season as his contract is set to expire.

During his ten years at City, the Belgian maestro won 16 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League trophy.
