Jadran Faces Third Consecutive Loss in the Premier League
For the second time in just four days, the Jadran water polo team faced defeat against Jug in the regional Premier League.
Similar to the match on Wednesday, the Dubrovnik side celebrated in Herceg Novi with a sense of tension, finishing at 13:12 in Gruž this evening.
This marks the third consecutive loss for Novljan, who previously fell to Jadran in Split.
Jug maintained the lead for most of the game, pulling ahead by three goals on two different occasions (7:4, 8:5), and Petar Radanović’s squad managed to level the score three times in the final quarter.
Bogdan Đerković clinched the victory for the Croatian giants with a goal during a power play, just 34 seconds before the final whistle.
Jadran had two opportunities to equalize afterward; first, Jovan Vujović was denied, and then Ivan Nagaev struck the post.
Dmitrij Holod, Vasilije Radović, Vujović, and Nagaev each contributed two goals for the Montenegrin champions, while Lazar Vukićević, Danilo Radović, Martin Gardašević, and Strahinja Gojković each found the net once.
In the South, Maro Joković stood out with four goals.
