The police in Podgorica apprehended MK (27), who is accused of illicit tobacco trafficking.

“Officers from the Regional Security Center ‘Centar’ and the Podgorica Security Department conducted a traffic stop on an Audi passenger car with Podgorica plates being driven by MK (27).

“During the search, authorities discovered eight large packages containing a total of 240 smaller packages of tobacco, amounting to 120 kilograms in weight,” stated the Police Directorate.

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has been notified about the case, and an order was issued for MK’s detention on suspicion of engaging in the crime of illicit trafficking, per the police.

“Police officers will continue to enhance controls and perform their duties to combat criminal activities in this area, as well as other forms of crime, in order to safeguard the safety and property of the citizens,” the statement concluded.
