A training complex is set to be developed in Lješnica to support football players from Bijelo Polje.

Today marked the official commencement of construction with a ceremonial foundation stone laying for the training camp in Bijelo Polje.

Joined by the President of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, Petar Smolović, the President of FK Jedinstvo, Nermin Bećirović, and the President of the Football Association of Montenegro, Dejan Savićević, the start of this initiative was announced, aimed at creating a venue for training and matches for local clubs.

The camp will feature two football fields—one with natural grass and another with artificial turf—alongside a facility equipped with locker rooms for teams and officials, a medical unit, a gym, essential rooms, and seating for spectators.

This project, valued at €3.3 million, is a collaboration between the Football Association of Montenegro and the Municipality of Bijelo Polje.

Dejan Savićević emphasized that the new camp in Lješnica will provide vital resources for the development of young talent in Bijelo Polje.

“The vision of advancing the football community in northern Montenegro has been embraced by the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and FK Jedinstvo. This initiative represents a unified effort to offer optimal training conditions for the youth in the town along the Lim River. The Football Association prides itself on contributing to projects like this, aiming to nurture future generations who will play for local clubs and national teams,” remarked Savićević.

“The modern camp will present essential facilities for the training and skill development of young players, enabling them to cultivate their talents in ideal conditions. Besides the two fields, we will establish a facility that includes locker rooms, a gym, a medical unit, and spectator seating. These amenities will be tailored to meet the current demands of football, offering the necessary conditions that have long been awaited by young football players in Bijelo Polje,” Savićević added.

Bijelo Polje requires an environment conducive to nurturing new football talents.

“I am convinced that the camp in Lješnica will emerge as a hub of football excellence, nurturing new talents and inspiring future generations of athletes. Modern training facilities will motivate both boys and girls to strive for their best, echoing the successes of past local players like Branislav and Anto Drobnjak, Fuad Muzurović, and Žarko Korać,” concluded Savićević.

Nermin Bećirović, the President of FK Jedinstvo, stated that the foundation stone signifies more than just construction; it heralds a new chapter for his club and every other football team in Bijelo Polje.

“It is with immense pride that we gather here today at a site destined to become a focal point for athletic development, effort, discipline, and success for both current and future young footballers from our city and the north of Montenegro. This is not merely about laying a foundation for structures, but about realizing dreams of young athletes and fostering the growth of new talent, marking a pivotal moment for the future of Montenegrin football,” said Bećirović.

Petar Smolović, the President of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, highlighted that the football camp in Lješnica will be a breeding ground for future players and a promoter of healthy lifestyles.

“Today we embark on the final and most rewarding phase of our initiative to bring a football camp to Lješnica. I strongly believe that within a year we will see the commencement of work on these fields. They are more than just physical structures; they will function as a breeding ground not only for athletes but also for healthy living and community progression for Bijelo Polje and all of Montenegro,” stated Smolović.

The contract stipulates that the construction of the football camp in Lješnica will take approximately eight months.
