President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated this evening in Banja Luka that the message to Russian President Vladimir Putin will be for Russia to reclaim its role as the guarantor of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Dodik noted that Russia “recognizes the reality that this agreement has been undermined and has lost its significance” and mentioned that efforts are underway in Bosnia and Herzegovina to legitimize an anti-Dayton environment.
“The situation in BiH revolves solely around the defense of the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution of BiH,” Dodik told Radio Television RS (RTRS), when asked what message Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić would deliver to Putin tomorrow.
He emphasized that there is no internal consensus in BiH, asserting that no agreements stem from a domestic compromise.
“We cannot allow that anything contrary to the Dayton Agreement gains legal standing,” Dodik asserted.
He clarified that RS “is neither a rebellious nor separatist entity, contrary to how it is often portrayed.”
