“Nominate Me for the Guinness World Records!”

Bournemouth midfielder Justin Kluivert has expressed that he deserves a spot in the Guinness Book of Records for achieving the remarkable feat of scoring in all six of Europe’s top leagues.

The Dutch player, who will celebrate his 26th birthday on Monday, has made his mark in leagues across the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and England, netting at least one goal in each prestigious division—a unique achievement in his view.

“I should be in the Guinness Book of Records. I believe I’m the first footballer to score in every one of the top six league competitions—if we count Holland as sixth,” Kluivert shared with the BBC.

Only Montenegrin captain Stevan Jovetić and Romanian footballer Florin Raduçoiu have managed to score in the elite competitions of the five strongest leagues, which are Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and England.

Since beginning his professional career with Ajax at the age of 17, Kluivert has found the net for clubs like Roma, Leipzig, Nice, and Valencia.

In June 2023, he made the transition from Roma to Bournemouth.

During this season, he has participated in 30 Premier League matches, accumulating 2,114 minutes on the pitch, scoring 12 goals, and providing six assists. He appears to be emerging from the shadow of his renowned father, the legendary Dutch international Patrick Kluivert.

“That has always driven me. It’s motivated me to demonstrate my skills, and not just rely on the Kluivert name on the jersey. People often question: ‘Is he genuinely talented, or is he just here because of his father?’ Pressure creates diamonds, and that’s how you shine,” he remarked.

Kluivert might find himself playing in Europe with Bournemouth next season, as up to ten teams from the Premier League could earn spots in European competitions.

Bournemouth currently sits 10th in the league standings, just a point behind eighth-placed Fulham, with four matches remaining, and they are vying for European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

“We discuss it every day. We have faith in it and are committed to doing our best,” Kluivert stated.
