RS is Engaging in a Pivotal Battle for the Dayton Agreement: We Have Strategies to Protect Our Position

The President of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, stated today that RS is currently engaged in a critical battle to uphold the Dayton Peace Agreement, emphasizing that this entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) possesses the mechanisms necessary to defend its status and is committed to doing so.

“We insist on BiH returning to its constitutional framework, rejecting everything that has been imposed through force,” Dodik expressed during a press conference held after his meeting with the outgoing Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević.

Dodik affirmed that the RS is not aiming to dismantle BiH but to eliminate institutions that do not align with the Constitution.

He pointed out that the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, alongside the BiH Investigation Agency (SIPA), are not constitutionally recognized entities but rather were established following the Dayton Agreement.

The RS President urged all personnel working within SIPA, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Court of BiH to resign from these institutions and transfer to the judicial and police bodies of the RS.

He also appealed to Serbs to ensure that members of other ethnic groups in the RS are not harmed in any way.

Dodik sought the backing of the RS populace for his policies, declaring this as a pivotal political battle for the RS.

“We will see this through; this is a political struggle. A lack of interest from the people equates to defeat,” he concluded.

He extended his gratitude to the Serbian leadership for their support, noting that collaborative projects between the RS and Serbia will continue.
