Fire Consumes Family Home: Three Children Injured, Mother Rescues One Child

Tragically, three children lost their lives in a fire that started in a family home located in the Roma settlement of Kuršanec near Čakovec, Croatia, last night, according to reports by N1 Croatia.
This heartbreaking news was confirmed by Matjaš Dido Oršuš, the president of the Roma community in Međimurje.
“Our entire community is reeling. This represents an irreparable loss for both the family and our neighborhood,” Oršuš stated.
Fortunately, a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, who was holding a child, managed to escape the flames, as reported by the police today.
The fire is said to have erupted around 10:30 PM last night in the attic of the residence.
The injured woman and the child were taken to Čakovec County Hospital, where it was determined they had sustained minor injuries.
The Operational and Communication Center of the Međimurje Police Department received the report about the fire at 10:52 PM, prompting the deployment of all available fire crews, police, and emergency medical services to the scene, according to N1.
Once the fire was extinguished, members of the Čakovec Public Fire Department inspected the area and discovered the remains of three children.
