Montenegro is dedicated to finalizing the remaining negotiation chapters, aiming for European Union membership by 2028, stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović.

Today, in Warsaw, Poland, he attended an informal gathering of EU foreign ministers alongside officials from candidate countries.

The discussions focused on major challenges in European foreign and security policy, particularly regarding enhancing resilience to hybrid threats, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Conversations also covered the EU’s efforts to bolster security and its global role, with Ibrahimović highlighting Montenegro’s commitment to improving overall resilience and increasing defense budgets.

He emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in tackling modern security challenges, especially regarding hybrid threats and external influences. Ibrahimović noted that a clear and credible European perspective for candidate countries fosters long-term stability in both the region and Europe.

“The presence of the European Union in the Western Balkans and unequivocal messages regarding shared values, accomplishments, and the European prospect serve as the most effective counter to harmful narratives,” Ibrahimović remarked.
