Vuko Borozan reminded everyone just how vital he has been for Montenegro’s national team during his six and a half year absence at the European Championship in Germany.

The 2017 Champions League winner with Vardar hasn’t donned the “lions” jersey since June of that year. However, thanks to the encouragement from coach Vlad Šola and RSCG president Petr Kapisoda, he made a return.

He not only demonstrated that he was once among the top left backs in the world, but also that he remains close to that caliber today.

In the match against Serbia, he scored six goals and provided an assist. Following the narrow victory (30:29), he had a few points to share:

“First, I want to greet all the haters. They can keep throwing shade, but I’ll only come back stronger. A special shoutout to Mr. Pero Milosevic as well. I felt it was necessary to say this,” Borozan stated, sending love to his children and wife.

The reason for his mention of Milošević stemmed from an incident during Lovcen’s last match in the EHF European League, where the seasoned coach substituted him out in the 4th minute for swearing.

Not long after, the 29-year-old from Cetinje ended his contract with the Montenegrin champion and currently finds himself without a club.
