“Difovci Outshine the Current Champion”
The second round of the Meridianbet Student League in Montenegro saw the reigning champions, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, face their first defeat. They lost to the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in a Group A derby, with a score of 41:57, marking the latter’s second consecutive victory.
On the winning side, Mornar’s Srđa Bulatović was the standout performer with 12 points, while the defending champions saw Maraš contribute 12 points and Đorđije Tatar add 10.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering also secured their second victory, defeating the University of the Mediterranean 42:30. Luka Rakočević proved to be the match’s central figure, scoring as many points as the entire University of the Mediterranean team combined.
After a loss to “Difovo” in their opening match, the Faculty of Economics bounced back to win against the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, finishing 43:24. Novo Rašović led the winning team with 14 points, while Mišurović shone for MTF with 16 points.
The most thrilling match of the second round took place in Group B, where the Faculty of Electrical Engineering faced off against the Faculty of Law. In a close contest, the lawyers emerged victorious with a narrow 27:26 win. ETF had a last-ditch opportunity with six seconds remaining but couldn’t convert, resulting in their first loss while the Faculty of Law claimed their first win. Nikola-Džoni Rondović led the scoring with 13 points, and Veljko Vujović contributed 12.
In another dominant display, the University of Donja Gorica triumphed over Studentski dom NK with a score of 84:59, thanks to Dušan Vučelić (30 points) and Lađić (17 points). For the losing team, Ćetković scored 18 points and Ćupić added 16. Meanwhile, students from the Biotechnical Faculty achieved their first victory by defeating the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering 48:43, with Popović delivering an impressive 22 points and Dragašević contributing 12. Jovović was the lone double-digit scorer for the losers with 14 points.
