A working meeting was convened at the company’s offices with representatives from the Municipality of Ulcinj to discuss the maintenance and enhancement of the coastal region, along with upcoming investments planned for this coastal municipality.

“Among the attendees were Assistant Director of the Public Enterprise Ivana Franeta and Acting Head of the Service for the Development and Construction of the Maritime Domain Miljana Miljanić. The Coastal District noted that the meeting emphasized analyzing ongoing activities, particularly focused on maintaining the Velika Plaza area and addressing issues related to illegal waste disposal efficiently.

“A total of 293,710.05 euros has been allocated by the public company for cleaning and maintaining the coastal zone in Ulcinj, facilitated through a contract with DOO Komunalne djelatnost Ulcinj,” the announcement stated.

Moreover, accounting for requests and recommendations from the Ulcinj Municipal Services company, an additional 50,000 euros has been allocated to enhance maintenance and cleaning activities at Velika Plaza during the summer months.

“It was agreed that the Public Enterprise Control Service would increase its on-site presence, especially in highly populated areas, to ensure timely responses to illegal waste disposal and maintain the cleanliness of the coastal zone,” the statement highlighted.

The Coastal Zone Authority also indicated that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss essential infrastructure projects set to occur in partnership with the Municipality of Ulcinj and the Public Enterprise, aimed at improving living conditions and enhancing tourist offerings. The focal projects included:

• Implementation of the Albatros – Cape Đerane promenade, as part of the coastal zone development plans and the creation of additional tourist facilities. • Rehabilitation of roads in the Velika Plaza and Ada Bojana hinterland to improve accessibility and traffic safety.

• Installation of traffic lights on the bridge at Ada Bojana to facilitate traffic regulation and enhance safety.

• Maintenance of coastal infrastructure through the regular rehabilitation, reconstruction, and enhancement of existing public facilities and areas.

• Completion of the slope rehabilitation project above Mala Plaza, with a contractor tender expected soon.

• Ongoing preparation of project documentation for constructing the Lungo Mare promenade in the Velika Plaza hinterland, which will add further value to the area.

• Planning for works at Port Milena includes building a bridge and parapet wall, constituting a significant advancement in the development of this area, which holds remarkable ecological and functional importance for Ulcinj. These projects will be executed in collaboration between the Municipality of Ulcinj and the Public Enterprise, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and procedures.

“All proposed projects aim to enhance public infrastructure, safeguard the coastal area, and elevate the overall quality of life for both local residents and visitors to Ulcinj,” stated the Coastal District.
