Slovakia Celebrates as Montenegro’s Senior Women Prepare for Upcoming Matches Against Hungary and Portugal

The Montenegrin volleyball squad could not withstand the dominant Slovak national team, which upheld its status as the favorite in front of a home crowd, securing a convincing victory with a final score of 3:0 (25:16, 25:7, 25:13) in the concluding match of the second weekend of the Golden League.

From the outset at Gopas Arena in Bratislava, our team found themselves trailing. In the first set, the Montenegrins briefly narrowed the gap to just two points (11:9), but were ultimately unable to seize control. The more seasoned Slovak players prevailed, clinching the first set at 25:16. The same trend continued throughout the remainder of the match.

Coach Jovo Caković’s revitalized team struggled to counter the home side’s gameplay, which was even more formidable in the subsequent two sets—25:7 and 25:13.

Nikoleta Perović and Darja Popović each contributed five points for our team, while Saška Đurović added four.

The Montenegrin women have wrapped up their second tournament with this match and now look forward to a journey to Hungary, where they will compete in their final matches of the third tournament against the host and Portugal.
