Pavle Đurišić, who was awarded Hitler’s Iron Cross, is celebrated as a hero by Joanikija, stated Ivan Vujović, the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and a key figure in the European Alliance, in a post on the X platform.
His comments were in response to Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), who referred to Chetnik duke Pavle Đurišić as “a great hero of invincible character.”
The Metropolitanate reported that Joanikije officiated a liturgy at the new Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Lijevče Polje, located in the village of Razboj near Srbac, within the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of Republika Srpska.
“The perpetrator of the orchestrated crime against 8,000 Muslim women, children, and the elderly in northern Montenegro and eastern Bosnia is a hero. Together with Uncle Draža, he stands as the foremost promoter of the criminal ideology of ethnic cleansing. ‘Worthy,'” Vujović remarked.
