Mina and Đorđe: The Top Duo of 2024.

Đorđe Jovović has been named the top Montenegrin volleyball player overseas, while Mina Dragović received the equivalent honor in the women’s division, as announced in the annual selection by the Volleyball Association.

Last season, Jovović played for Triglav in Slovenia, where he distinguished himself as the league’s premier point guard and server.

This season, he has joined Mladost in Zagreb, where he continues to excel in the domestic championship, the MEVZA league, and the CEV cup.

Jovović is a regular member of the senior national team and serves as the team’s primary proofreader.

Dragović, a player for the Jedinstva squad from Stara Pazova, secured the championship title in Serbia, as well as the Serbian Cup and the Serbian Supercup.

As part of Montenegro’s senior national team, she made a significant impact in the CEV Silver League and during the qualifiers for the European Championship.

This season, she is competing with the Romanian team Lugos, where she has been making notable contributions in her matches.

Furthermore, she has been nominated for the title of the best athlete of Montenegro for 2024 by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.

The prizes for the best volleyball players in the domestic league were awarded to Matija Ćinćur and Melissa Cenović.

Ćinćur achieved a double crown with the Budva team and delivered impressive performances in European competitions.

He was also part of Montenegro’s senior national team during the qualification for the European Championship.

Cenović secured a double crown with the Herceg Novi team and excelled as a member of the national team in the CEV Silver League and during the qualifiers for the European Championship.

The award for the most promising volleyball player went to Luka Lojić, who has shone in both the younger categories and the senior team of Budućnost.

Lojić was named the best player at the cadet championship of Montenegro, where he won the title, and he also achieved a third-place finish at the junior championship.

He helped the cadet national team earn a silver medal at the Balkan Championship held in Tirana.

This current season, Lojić is among the leading players for the Podgorica team.

In women’s volleyball, Lana Rakočević stands out as the most promising talent, having led the Budućnost team to the cadet championship of Montenegro and a second-place finish in the junior championship.

Rakočević is also part of the senior national team, where she has made a positive impact in the CEV Silver League and the qualifiers for the European Championship.

The best coaches for 2024 were recognized as Miljan Bošković and Časlav Đurović.

Bošković guided the Budva team to a double crown in the Montenegrin championship and achieved notable success on the European stage, advancing to the second round of qualification for the Champions League.

As the head coach of the youth national team, he achieved commendable results at the “Trophy of Belgrade.” He is also a member of the professional staff for the senior national team.

Đurović led the Budva women’s team to a historic qualification for the EPCG Superliga, outperforming Rudar in the play-offs.

The Mediterranean Sports Center team enjoyed a remarkable debut season in the top tier of Montenegrin volleyball and made it to the semi-finals of the Montenegrin Cup.

In 2024, Nikola Kažić assumed the role of president of the OSCG, and new selectors were appointed—Jovo Caković for the women’s volleyball team and Ivica Jevtić for the men’s volleyball team.
