This year has been notable for Montenegrin handball, showcasing remarkable talents such as the premier pivot of the European Championship and one of the finest goalkeepers in the top league worldwide.

Tatjana Brnović has been recognized as the top handball player in the 2024 selection by the Handball Association of Montenegro, alongside Nebojša Simić, who has earned the title of the nation’s best handball player.

The athlete from Cetinje once again demonstrated her exceptional skills at the recently held EHF Euro, where she was named to the tournament’s ideal team. Additionally, she is recognized as one of the standout players for Crimea in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the “number one” goalkeeper had a stellar autumn at the club level, leading Melzungen to the top of the Bundesliga, securing a spot in the final four of the German Cup, and advancing to the main round of the EHF European League.

With Montenegro, following a setback in the World Cup playoffs, he achieved two victories in the qualifiers for the EHF Euro, significantly opening the path to a new major competition under the guidance of Didier Dinar.

The RSCG recognized individuals in the domestic arena as well, naming Armel Atingre, the goalkeeper from Budućnost, and Đorđo Peruničić from Lovćen as the best handball players in Montenegro.

In terms of future prospects, the title of best young handball player goes to Teodora Rončević, while Petar Radoičić is recognized as the standout young male player.

Teodora excelled as the goalkeeper for the Budućnost II team and the cadet national team of Montenegro, which achieved 12th place at the U18 Women’s World Championship in China.

Meanwhile, Radoičić is making waves with Lovćen, having been one of the top performers on the Montenegrin national team during the U18 European Championship held in Podgorica.

Special Award for the Referee Duo

The RSCG Board of Directors also distributed special honors this year…

The prestigious title of best referee duo from Montenegro was awarded to Ivan Pavićević and Miloš Ražnatović, who officiated at the Olympic Games in Paris. Moreover, international delegate Predrag Pavićević represented the World Handball Federation (IHF) at the globe’s largest athletics exhibition.

Awards will be presented by the RSCG to the honorees on Monday.
