Decline in Passenger Transport

In the first quarter, passenger transport saw a decrease in rail, road, local road, and airport traffic compared to the same period last year.
According to Monstat data, rail transport declined by 12.6 percent, road transport by 1.9 percent, local road transport by 0.8 percent, and passenger airport transport by 3.2 percent.
The statement indicated that in the first quarter, goods transport also experienced a decline: 4.9 percent in rail transport, 2.2 percent in road transport, 0.2 percent in total goods traffic at ports, and 11.9 percent at airports.
Additionally, the tonnage transshipped in ports in the first quarter decreased by 2.1 percent compared to the same period last year, while the number of manipulated tons fell by eight percent.
Statisticians reported that the number of registered road motor vehicles and trailers in the first quarter was 66.59 thousand, reflecting a six percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The total number of newly registered road motor vehicles and trailers in the first quarter was 7.64 thousand, which is a 4.4 percent decrease compared to the same quarter last year.
