Spajić: Montenegro’s Top Ambassador in Japan

Montenegro’s National Day celebration was a remarkable triumph, and your visit to Japan has emerged as a highly discussed topic in our public discourse. You are the foremost ambassador for Montenegro, stated Akihiko Tanaka, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), during his meeting with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

During his visit to JICA’s headquarters in Tokyo, Prime Minister Spajić underscored the robust and fruitful collaboration between Montenegro and Japan in cultural initiatives and disaster risk reduction. He voiced hope that these projects will continue to grow for the shared benefit of both nations.

In recent years, our countries have engaged in limited yet exceedingly successful partnerships in cultural exchange and disaster preparedness. I believe the time is right to expand our cooperation, particularly in infrastructure development and investment attraction, remarked Prime Minister Spajić.

In response, JICA President Tanaka indicated his interest in supporting infrastructure endeavors in Montenegro, highlighting the nation’s improved democratic governance and strengthened fiscal stability as a solid basis for effectively developing transport infrastructure and executing major capital projects.

Within the discussions regarding tourism promotion, Tanaka stressed the significance of Montenegro’s involvement in EXPO 2025 and noted that Prime Minister Spajić’s visit has sparked significant interest among the Japanese public—an essential factor in enhancing Montenegro’s profile.

Montenegro’s National Day celebration was a remarkable achievement, and your visit to Japan has turned into one of the most discussed subjects in our public discourse. You are the ultimate ambassador for Montenegro, Tanaka reiterated.

Both parties concurred that the Prime Minister’s official visit has fostered favorable political conditions for bolstering economic and tourism cooperation between Montenegro and Japan in the future.
