The best volleyball players of “Yugoslavia”, and the volleyball players of the “Maksim Gorki” Elementary School

The Top Volleyball Players of Yugoslavia and the Talented Athletes from Maksim Gorki Elementary School

The volleyball teams from the “Jugoslavija” Elementary School in Bar and the “Maksim Gorki” Elementary School in Podgorica emerged victorious at the 42nd National School Sports Games Championship, held at the “Blažo Jokov Orlandić” Elementary School in Bar.

In the finals, four teams competed in a round-robin format, with the final rankings determined after three rounds of play.

Professor Goran Kankaraš’s volleyball team claimed victory, sweeping all three matches with perfect scores. The runner-up position went to the “Maksim Gorki” Elementary School team, coached by Professor Milan Drobnjak, while the bronze medal was secured by Professor Zoran Perutović’s squad from the “Braća Ribar” Elementary School in Nikšić. Unfortunately, the “Pavle Žižić” Elementary School team from Bijelo Polje, guided by Professor Darko Grebović, finished without a medal.

Women’s volleyball results – first round: “Yugoslavia” defeated “Braća Ribar” 2:0, “Pavle Žižić” lost to “Maksim Gorki” 0:2; second round: “Braća Ribar” fell to “Maksim Gorki” 0:2, while “Yugoslavia” triumphed over “Pavle Žižić” 2:0; third round: “Yugoslavia” beat “Maksim Gorki” 2:0, and “Braća Ribar” won against “Pavle Žižić” 2:0.

Final standings: 1. “Yugoslavia”, 2. “Maksim Gorki”, 3. “Braća Ribar”, 4. “Pavle Žižić”.

In contrast to the women’s competition, the men’s podium featured a swap between the top two teams. The title was claimed by the “Maksim Gorki” Elementary School under Professor Milan Drobnjak, with “Jugoslavija” taking the silver, led by Professor Vladan Jovanović. The bronze medal was secured by the “Pavle Žižić” team, coached by Darko Grebović. The team from the “Pavle Mićunović” Elementary School in Nikšić, under Professor Darko Kovačević, ended the championship with three losses.

Men’s volleyball results – first round: “Maksim Gorki” beat “Yugoslavia” 2:0, while “Janko Mićunović” lost to “Pavle Žižić” 0:2; second round: “Janko Mićunović” fell to “Yugoslavia” 0:2, “Pavle Žižić” lost to “Maksim Gorki” 0:2; third round: “Pavle Žižić” went down to “Yugoslavia” 1:2, and “Maksim Gorki” bested “Janko Mićunović” 2:0.

Final standings: 1. “Maksim Gorki”, 2. “Yugoslavia”, 3. “Pavle Žižić”, 4. “Janko Mićunović”.
