False promises about reducing the cost of living, replaced with “making everyday life easier” with even higher bills

“Empty Promises of Lowering Living Costs: Now Focused on ‘Easing Daily Life’ with Higher Bills”

While gratitude is displayed on billboards, citizens are once again left to bear the financial burden. Authorities in Herceg Novi have vowed to support residents, yet have shown their appreciation by raising utility service rates and rents, commented Tanja Vujičić, vice president of the Municipal Board (OO) of SD Herceg Novi and a representative of the European Union.

According to the European Union, Vujičić responded to announcements regarding a 1 percent increase, effective May 30, in the prices of various utility services for market maintenance, cemeteries, chapels, and burials, as well as services related to the efficient operation of vehicles and assets of the local Komunalno stamben company.

“They have traded false promises of lowering living costs for ‘enhancing’ daily life with even steeper bills. Are utility services and market rents set to rise by up to 30 percent?” Vujačić expressed.

She emphasized that this move clearly demonstrates the government’s lack of genuine concern for its citizens.

“Once again, citizens are merely pawns in their political games, with true ‘gratitude’ translated into heightened expenses. This raises a vital question: Does the government truly consider the real needs of its people, or are they solely invested in their political agendas? If this is their version of ‘care’, it’s evident that citizens have become a means to pursue their interests,” Vujačić concluded.
