DPM Ivanović Engages in Bilateral Discussions with Officials from Armenia, Palestine, and Serbia

On the sidelines of the Yerevan Dialogue 2025 conference, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović conducted bilateral meetings with representatives from Armenia, the State of Palestine, and the Republic of Serbia.

During his discussion with Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, both parties reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing political dialogue and collaboration through tangible initiatives in education, culture, economy, and tourism. They acknowledged the significance of continued experience-sharing in the EU integration process and expressed a willingness to embark on joint projects aimed at fostering regional stability and prosperity.

Minister Mirzoyan conveyed Armenia’s eagerness to learn from Montenegro’s experiences and to actively cultivate a robust partnership. He addressed the ongoing normalization efforts with Azerbaijan, reiterating Armenia’s commitment to dialogue and peace. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed optimism that the normalization of relations between the two nations, both of which share amicable ties with Montenegro, would soon be realized, emphasizing the importance of regional stability and the quest for enduring peace. Concerning European integration, Ivanović remarked that Montenegro, as a leader in this field, has a responsibility to assist other nations aiming to join the European Union.

In the meeting with Varsen Aghabekian, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, significant attention was directed towards the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Minister Aghabekian stressed that the extent of human suffering is unacceptable in the contemporary world and called for heightened international involvement. She underscored the necessity for specific political and institutional measures to safeguard the Palestinian people and their right to a sovereign and secure state. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed profound sorrow over the ongoing and indiscriminate suffering of civilians. He underscored the importance of removing any justifications for denying the Palestinian people’s right to a dignified existence, reiterating Montenegro’s stance in support of a two-state solution.

In his meeting with Tatjana Macura, Minister without Portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia responsible for gender equality, addressing violence against women, and the economic and political empowerment of women, both parties affirmed their readiness to bolster bilateral cooperation. They collectively emphasized that the European future of the Western Balkans is unquestionable and committed to further strengthening the ties between Montenegro and Serbia for the benefit of all citizens in both nations.
