The Buducnost Voli basketball team aims to extend their impressive run tomorrow (20) when they welcome Zadar at “Morača” for the 19th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.

The “Blues” are currently on a six-game winning streak across all competitions, securing 13 victories in their last 12 games, and they are hopeful for this momentum to carry on into tomorrow’s match.

In terms of direct encounters, the “Blues” have triumphed in eight consecutive games, with their last defeat to Zadar occurring back in 2022 in Dalmatia.

“We understand Zadar’s style of play. Under coach Danijel Jusup, they have maintained an unconventional yet highly effective approach to basketball, which often involves significant contact, fast pace, and strong rebounding. We must excel in these areas—showing aggression, engaging physically, and effectively defending our boards. The key is to maintain the right mindset; we’ve done well in this respect so far, and we need to carry that into tomorrow’s game. Offensively, we should play freely, leverage our strengths, and once again fulfill our role as favorites,” commented Budućnost Voli coach Andrej Žakelj in his preview of the match.

One of Zadar’s standout players is former Buducnost member Vladimir Mihailović.

“They lack a traditional playmaker and allow players considerable freedom to dictate the game. We’re well aware of Vladimir Mihailović’s skills. He’s in great form and is undoubtedly one of Zadar’s key threats. Additionally, they have tall players capable of stretching the floor, with a lot of ‘low post’ play involving guards and bigger players. We need to approach this game with respect and determination; we must show our character and aim for victory,” Žakelj explained.

Kenan Kamenjaš, center for the “Blues,” also emphasized the unique style of Zadar’s team.

“We’re facing another challenging match at a relentless pace against Zadar, who play an unconventional style characterized by frequent substitutions and a lot of height on the court. Typically, there are at least four players over two meters tall playing simultaneously. This height can pose challenges for many teams. It’s essential for us to prepare well, execute our game plan effectively, and ultimately secure a win,” remarked the Buducnost center.
