Final Phase of Document Adoption on the Environmental Impact of the Mateševo-Andrijevica Road: Invitation to Join Public Discussions

The state-owned enterprise “Monteput” has announced that the approval process for the documents regarding the environmental and social impacts of the planned Bar-Boljare highway route, specifically the Mateševo-Andrijevica section, is nearing completion.

The relevant documents include: Environmental and Social Impact Assessment with a non-technical summary, Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Framework for Expropriation Implementation, Report on Public Consultations and Meetings Held to Date, and the Environmental and Social Impact Management Plan.

These documents are accessible in electronic format at the “Monteput” website, as well as on the website of the Municipality of Kolašin and the Municipality of Andrijevica, available in both Montenegrin and English.

Printed copies of the documents in Montenegrin are available for review at the “Monteput” offices, the municipalities of Kolašin and Andrijevica, and in local offices across the settlements along the planned route: Mateševo, Bare Kraljske, Sunga, Gnjili Potok, Kralje, Slatina, Sjenožeta, and Andrijevica.

“Monteput” encourages all interested parties—individuals, citizen groups, associations, entrepreneurs, institutions, and organizations—to submit their feedback, inquiries, and objections in writing by May 20th. Responses can be sent to “Monteput” doo (office@monteput.me), delivered to local office presidents for forwarding, or presented during the public hearing.

Public consultations, which will feature presentations and discussions of the aforementioned documents, are scheduled to take place from May 22nd to 29th in the local communities that the highway will traverse.

“Citizens will be promptly informed about the specific dates for the public consultations via the ‘Monteput’, Kolašin, and Andrijevica municipalities’ websites, bulletin boards in local offices/settlements, and through print and electronic media as well as local TV and radio stations. For any further inquiries, interested parties may contact representatives of Monteput doo or the president of their local community,” the statement notes.
