Collaborating for the Welfare of Citizens

The Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation has established memoranda of understanding and cooperation with the Center for Social Work for the Municipalities of Nikšić, Plužine, and Šavnik, as well as the Center for Social Work in Danilovgrad.

The Foundation underscored that this step is crucial for enhancing collaborative efforts aimed at improving social protection and extending support to vulnerable populations in Montenegro. They noted that last year, they signed a similar Memorandum with the Center for Social Work for the Capital City of Podgorica, along with the municipalities of Golubovci and Tuzi.

“I believe that formalizing cooperation with social work centers across Montenegro is a vital move towards fostering a more compassionate, humane, and inclusive society. Collaborating with institutions that serve as foundational support for vulnerable citizens is essential for our mission. Statistics show that in Montenegro, one in five citizens and one in three children are at risk of poverty. This indicates the need for community-wide involvement; only through collective effort can we foster better living conditions for our most vulnerable,” stated Mirko Pavićević, Executive Director of the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation.

Pavićević reiterated that the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation is committed to tirelessly providing aid and support to those in greatest need, while also fostering partnerships with various institutions and the civil sector to create a society where everyone has equal opportunities.

“By signing this document, we are not merely formalizing an agreement, but initiating a strategic partnership grounded in shared values, solidarity, commitment, and community responsibility. We recognize the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation as a partner aligned with our vision of prioritizing assistance for the most vulnerable,” said Nikola Anđušić, director of the Danilovgrad Center for Social Work.

Anđušić firmly believes that this collaboration will yield tangible benefits and that the Memorandum signifies further dedication to cultivating sustainable partnerships with institutions and organizations, aimed at empowering citizens and encouraging active participation in social processes.

“This memorandum solidifies a partnership that will lead to a series of concrete initiatives in the near future for the benefit of the residents of Danilovgrad, resulting in real changes in the lives of those in dire need. Our plan includes joint volunteer and humanitarian activities, educational programs, and support for socially vulnerable families and individuals. Through this cooperation, institutions and the civil sector are uniting efforts with the clear objective to ensure that no one is overlooked and that assistance is provided where it is most required,” added Anđušić.
