Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, expressed pride in his team’s achievement of reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. Despite a defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the quarter-finals, he acknowledged the stellar performance of his players throughout the season.
Barcelona qualified for the Champions League semi-finals, overcoming a 3-1 loss at Borussia Dortmund in the second leg played on Tuesday.
“We have progressed, and that was our main objective. It’s fantastic for the club to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. This is a significant achievement, and we are thrilled. We faced a formidable Borussia Dortmund side that challenged us greatly. The most important thing is that we are in the semi-finals,” Flick stated on the club’s website.
The Spanish team had secured a commanding 4-0 victory in the first leg at home, advancing with a 5-3 aggregate score.
“It’s vital to focus on the positives rather than the negatives. Our team is performing excellently at the moment, and that is what matters. We need to keep doing what we’ve been doing. It will be crucial to reflect on this match and accept the outcome, while also looking ahead to the significant challenges that await us,” Flick added.
Barcelona will compete against the winner of the match between Inter and Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals. The Italian team secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg on their home turf.
