Two teams that made notable strides in European qualifiers last summer have moved closer to the final under Gorica – Mornar took a decisive step, while Dečić also holds a favorable position.

In the inaugural match of the Montenegrin Cup semi-finals, the Bar team triumphed over the second-placed Iskra away with a score of 3:0, while the reigning champions claimed victory against Petrovac at Mali Brdo with a score of 1:0.

Jan Michel Jao emerged as the hero for Mornar, while Dečić was led by the seasoned Draško Božović.

Dečić and Petrovac clashed for the fourth time this season; despite Petrovac’s higher standing in the championship, they failed to find the net against the team from Tuzi.

The decisive goal for Dečić was scored by Božović, who netted a stunning shot from the edge of the box in the 49th minute. Although Nenad Brnović’s team was dominant up until that moment, Zdravko Dragićević’s squad improved in the latter part of the match, striving for a better outcome, though they fell short.

This semi-final derby remains unresolved, with everything to be decided in Tuzi.

Consequently, the spotlight appears to be on the match between Mornar and Iskra. The second division side from Danilovgrad created an upset in the last round by eliminating arguably this season’s best team, Buducnost, but faced limited opportunities in this clash.

Mornar opened the scoring with a splendid goal from Demir Škrijelj in the 8th minute, before Jan Michel Jao leveled the score.

The Ivorian winger netted his first goal in the 61st minute after a fantastic setup from Marko Đurišić, followed by an impressive dribble that set up Nikola Vuković two minutes later, sealing the final score.

Aside from Petrovac, none of the other three teams have secured the cup in our larger competition before.

Match Results:

Petrovac – Dečić AdmiralBet 0:1

Božović 49.

Iskra – Mornar 0:3

Škrijelj 8, Kisi 61, Vuković 64.
