When Giannis Becomes a “Beast”

In recent years, particularly since he earned the NBA MVP title, Giannis Antetokounmpo has often been overshadowed by other basketball stars. Perhaps it’s due to not having a strong enough team for major accomplishments, but when Giannis is on his game, his opponents stand little chance…

This was evident the night before on his historic Giannis Night, when the Greek from Athens showcased why he earned the moniker “Greek Beast.”

Antetokounmpo achieved a remarkable triple-double in a victory over his Milwaukee team (126:113) with 35 points, 20 assists, and 17 rebounds.

No player before him had ever achieved at least 35 points, 20 assists, and 15 steals in a game.

Brook Lopez contributed 17 points and Kyle Kuzma added 16 for the winning side, while Damian Lillard missed another match due to a calf injury. Philadelphia’s standout was Adam Bona with 28 points.

That same evening featured another legendary match-up, as Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors triumphed over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers 123:116.

Steph ended the game with 37 points (including four three-pointers), while LeBron scored 33. For the “Warriors,” Brandin Podzemski added 28 points, and for the Lakers, Austin Reeves contributed 31 points, with Luka Dončić finishing with 19 points (6-0 from three-point range), eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Minnesota, led by Anthony Edwards (28 points) and Rudy Gobert (21 points, 18 rebounds), secured a 105:90 victory over Brooklyn.

Ja Morant often finds himself at the center of attention due to his antics, but he reminded everyone of his skills once again by hitting a buzzer-beater for Memphis’ victory over Miami (110:108).

Morant was the leading scorer for his team with 30 points, while Tyler Hiro shone for Miami with 35 points.

This win also marked Tomas Isalo’s first victory as head coach of the Memphis team.
