The Serbian Parliament has officially accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, marking the end of the current government’s term.

Vučević will remain in a technical capacity as Prime Minister until a new government is chosen, with a 30-day timeframe for this process.

In the event that a new government is not established within this timeframe, parliamentary elections will be initiated, as reported by RTS.

Ana Brnabić, the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, expressed her gratitude to Vučević for his “honorable and honest” service during his time as prime minister.

Vučević submitted his formal resignation on January 28, following incidents where students in Novi Sad were attacked during a blockade executed by individuals associated with the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.

Miloš Vučević’s government was established on May 2 of the previous year.
