The head coach of Serbia’s women’s handball team, Uroš Bregar, stated today in Zrenjanin that his team is committed to winning against Montenegro in their upcoming European Championship qualifier.
The Serbia – Montenegro match is scheduled for tomorrow at 18:00 in Zrenjanin.
“We are feeling good here, our training has been productive, with four sessions held in Zrenjanin prior to this match. Captain Jovana Risović and Marija Petrović, who missed the World Cup, have rejoined the team, and we’ve also addressed some minor health issues,” Bregar said, as reported by the Handball Association of Serbia.
Tomorrow, the Serbian women’s handball team will host Montenegro in the Crystal Hall in Zrenjanin for their third qualifying match for the European Championship.
“Regarding tomorrow’s match, we’re up against a well-organized and strong opponent that we know well. They have performed admirably in recent World and European Championships. The support of our fans will be invaluable, and I invite everyone to come out and cheer us on. We promise to fight hard and do our best to bring home a victory so we can celebrate together,” Bregar said.
Serbia’s captain and goalkeeper Jovana Risović expressed hope for a full venue and believes that the fans will spur her team towards a positive outcome.
“Montenegro is a strong team with significant experience; they maintain a solid defense. I hope we can match them effectively and ultimately secure a win,” Risović stated.
In the first two qualification rounds, the Serbian handball players achieved one win and one draw, placing second in Group 6 with three points, while Montenegro leads with four points from two victories.
