The Police Directorate has provided police protection to journalist Ana Raičković from Pobjeda, five months after she was violently assaulted on November 10th in front of the “Gurman” restaurant in Blok Pet by businessman Zoran Bećirović, his son Luka, and bodyguards Mladen Mijatović and Ljubiša Dukić, as reported by Pobjeda.
Raičković has been assigned a police officer responsible for her safety.
Authorities explained to Pobjeda that, based on their assessment, Raičković requires protection from two police officers. However, this currently cannot be accommodated due to a shortage of personnel.
Following a recommendation from the National Security Agency (ANB), Minister of Interior Danilo Šaranović proposed that the government’s inner cabinet approve police protection for Raičković.
The ANB determined in early March this year that Raičković’s security was in jeopardy and deemed 24-hour police protection necessary, according to Pobjeda.
A verdict regarding the assault on Raičković is expected to be announced today at the Basic Court in Podgorica.
