The players from Freiburg clinched a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund today in Monchengladbach during the 29th Bundesliga round.
Monchengladbach initially took the lead with an own goal from Christian Günter, but Patrik Osterhage equalized just two minutes later. The decisive goal came from Johan Manzambi in the 90th minute, securing the win for Freiburg.
With today’s win, Freiburg ended a five-match winless stretch, marking their 13th victory, placing them sixth in the standings with 45 points. Borussia Monchengladbach, on the other hand, suffered their 11th defeat, leaving them in seventh place with 44 points.
Current champions Bayer Leverkusen ended in a 0-0 draw against Union Berlin at home.
This marks Bayer’s ninth draw of the season, putting them second in the standings with 63 points, trailing behind first-place Bayern Munich by five points.
Union Berlin finished their seventh league match with a draw, currently sitting in 13th place with 34 points.
Hoffenheim secured a 2-0 home victory against Mainz, with Andrej Kramarić scoring both goals in the fourth and 32nd minutes.
Hoffenheim now has 30 points, placing them 14th in the standings, while Mainz sits fifth with 46 points, having gone four games without a win.
In other fixtures, Augsburg triumphed over Bochum 2-1 away, and St. Pauli also won against Holstein Kiel with a score of 2-1 on the road.
Later today, Bayern Munich will face Borussia Dortmund at 18:30.
