In the season’s third matchup, Buducnost Voli secured their third victory against SC Derby.
Tonight, a total of 105:99 was recorded in the AdmiralBet ABA League, keeping Buducnost at the top of the standings.
“We anticipated a challenging game. We only held a five-on-five training session on the day of the match due to various issues, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. Derby plays with impressive confidence, and we were aware of their recent shooting form. Our defense was slow, and we struggled to find our rhythm, yet I believe we deserved the win,” remarked the “blues” coach, Andrej Žakelj.
Andrija Slavković and Rašid Sulajmon are no longer with us.
“Fletcher Magee was also dealing with an injury, while Yogi Ferrell has just joined us. It’s a challenging time, but I believe that in the next 2-3 days, we will have more players available for normal training,” pointed out the Slovenian coach.
SC Derby once again posed a challenge for the favorites.
“The total points scored reflect the intensity of the game over the full 40 minutes. We struggled significantly with defensive rebounding—partly due to Buducnost’s quality and partly because of our reduced rotation in the interior positions. Zoran Nikolić racked up five fouls too early in the game. We’re playing much better basketball now compared to the first half of the season, as we showed against Buducnost, who are aiming for significant achievements,” emphasized Derby coach Petar Mijović.
